| While the overall
goal of this component is to coordinate and manage the development of
MFIs savings and credit services by their members until such time that
the MFIs, their apex organizations and the linked FIs take on these roles
on a permanent and sustainable basis, the specific objectives are
- Establishment of working PSC
- Establishment of PMU by staff recruited through objective criteria
and an open competitive selection.
- Establishment of ZMUs through competitive selection
- Establishment of District –RFSP sub-committees in programme
zones other than Mbeya.
- Find the institutional support to enable the PMU under PMO to manage
and co-ordinate the programme operating from offices in Mbeya; Dodoma
and Moshi.
- Provide supplementary financing for IFAD Liaison office within the
PMO in Dar es salaam to facilitate PMO/GOT/CI/IFAD linkage.
Success factors include
- Well prepared and executed recruitment plan
- Enough self starters in the PMU/ZMUs team; and
- Well prepared and executed AWPBs
The PMU, in collaboration with its partners (e.g. MFI Board of Directors,
District Councils, TSPs and FIs), has the overall responsibility for this
component. |
